I've always been a M.A.C brush girl. Well - that's a bit of a lie. I've been a majority M.A.C brush girl! In my collection I've a hundred and one different brands, I'll have one Bobbi Brown, one Urban Decay, one Laura Mercier etc but the one staple brush collection I've always had and thought I would only ever use. Then one day I was in Dundrum working and I had to run to a shoot when I realised I had forgotten my angled brush for brows. I had a big panic and realised I was going to have to go to M.A.C and fork out a fortune for a brush. Then I decided I'd run to Boots and just pick up a basic drug store brush, when that fell through something hit me. We have an Inglot - from that day on every time I needed a new brush or needed a few extra bits for my kit, I've ended up in INGLOT! Don't get me wrong I still love M.A.C brushes and probably always will but there is always room for new brushes in your life!
Above are two photographs of my current favourites from INGLOT right now. I picked my top ten and although it was pretty hard to pick, these are the ten that I couldn't imagine not reaching for every day! I think we all get very settled with our brushes and that's okay if we take care of them! Good brushes should last and will last but where is the fun in that? We need to play with brushes, experiment with styles and see what we can achieve with different tools!
The first thing I will say about make up brushes is that you don't always have to use them for what they say they are. This isn't one of those cases where 'it does exactly what it says on the tin'. Yes you can use it for that purpose but we all want different things out of make up brushes! So if you are standing in INGLOT and you see a brush you like and you think 'that is the perfect size for me as a sculpting brush' but they say it's an over-sized blending brush - that doesn't mean it can't slide right into your life. You need to always make things work for you, not for how people tell you to! So instead of posting what each of these brushes are MEANT to be used for I'm going to tell you what I use them for! Obviously some of them over-lap and are the true purpose but - let's just wait and see!
29PO : This is one of my favourite brushes for packing on shadow, it fits so perfectly with the shape of my lid!
17TL : I use this brow brush every single day, I'd be nothing without it!
13P : I use this brush to sculpt my nose, it's great for drawing lines and getting very structured angles!
5FS : I use this for drawing the contour lines on my face!
15BJF : I use this brush for either blusher or highlighter, it's small so it's good for highlighting!
31T : I again use this for my brows the difference is this brush is synthetic
7FS : Another eye brush! I use this mainly for fanning out colour past my crease!
4SS : I use this brush to blending in all my colors!
20T : I use this brush for sculpting! It's probably one of my favourite brushes!
32T : Gel liner brush!
