Falling in love with NARS, Kim Kardashian and every day make up looks.

If any of you guys follow me on instagram (I am obsessed, I should be banned) you will see I posted the photograph above during the week with the caption 'Falling back in love with NARS'. I've never been the biggest fan of NARS make up, I think that cult following products like NARS ORGASM Blusher just spoiled the brand for me. It was all too much and then the brand didn't really have enough to back it up. It's like when someone goes on and on and on about how amazing a movie is and then it makes you not want to see it because it could never live up to the hype.  In saying that I do like a few of their products, I am a blusher fan (even though I don't think they are worth the money), I like their concealers and I now love their foundations! 

As I've said a hundred and one times on this blog I don't tend to tan my face. I apply tan right up until you hit my jaw line and then instead I use a dark foundation. I have my reasons for this but the main one is I don't like the idea of the false tan sitting on my skin. Instead I use my normal primers and prep my skin under the darkened foundation. With this in mind I have a good few 'staple' foundations depending on what colour I am. I have my every day foundation that matches my natural skin tone, a foundation that matches my Sun Shimmer instant tan, a foundation to match my Coca-Brown build up tan and then I've a foundation to match my spray tan! That's four foundations and out of those four, two of them are now NARS SHEER GLOW foundations. I love how easily it applies, how well it blend and of course it's staying powder! I do however only tend to like it when I am darker, I use it when I use Coca Brown (which I use THREE coats of) or my Spray Tans. I don't think it's the best foundation for me when I'm pale but we can't win every battle right? 

Speaking of Kardashians I just wanted to pop this into one of my posts. Again I posted this picture on instagram this week! It's finally getting dark enough and cold enough in the late evenings that when I'm sitting at my desk blogging it's so comforting to light a candle. The candle isn't the important thing in this photograph though, it's the Kimye Vogue. I have supported Kim Kardashian since day one. I actually can't remember a time in my life when I didn't love her. No matter what she has done, who she has dated, what she has worn - I've been one of those people that won't accept ANYONE talking negatively about her. When she met Kanye and they announced their engagement? Well I mean it was just every one of her dreams come true. Adding in North and a spread in Vogue shot by one of the most breath taking photographers in the world? I mean you can all sit at home behind your computers and say that she is famous because of a sex tape or famous for doing nothing but lets face it - she is the one on the cover of American Vogue. For most people, that is the top. 

I remember when the issue was released my heart dropped because I was trying to figure out how in the hell I was going to get my hands on it. I mean I was going through the list of people in my head that I'd have to ask to send it to me from America. Then as if it was meant to be I saw the release date and it came out just as I was going to be in Oklahoma to see The Barons play in the last few games of the AHL regular season. I remember I was walking through the airport in Chicago (we had a little cheeky stop over) and to my left was a sports bar playing a Stanley Cup Game where Chicago had just scored, then it goes straight to a break and I look to my right and I see a store with the Vogue issue sitting front and centre of their magazine racks. It was pretty much like heaven.
