noun
  1. 1
an unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger, pain, or harm.

I had thought of not posting a blog today -  I sat and thought 'what good is a beauty blog, a make up routine or a D.I.Y post to the world when it's currently in such a state of shock'. Before you panic don't worry I'm not going to start a rant on the facts and figures of politics and oil. I don't know enough about it to even form an opinion. I've been sitting watching play backs of the live Paris footage and it made me think. What happened was such a devastating and disgusting event. But - every single day things like this are happening in different corners of the world, who is praying for their souls? I respect the people for changing their Facebook profiles to French flags, the companies changing their logo's. If you feel that is a mark of support for the country currently in need then go ahead and do it but there was something that stopped me from doing it and I can't pinpoint it. I do support the innocent people who lay motionless,  some playing dead, some loosing their lives. My heart broke for every single person who lost their lives in Paris on Friday night and for everyone who lost someone from their lives because of it. I am in no way trying to make light or belittle the tragedy that accrued. However what really worries me is the countries and communities that don't have TV crews flying in the moment terror strikes, the countries that don't have to declare a 'state of emergency' because they never had the opportunity to live in peace. Who has Facebook photographs with their flags, logos and faces printed across them?

Instead of taking this to a negative place I want to think of the good that can come from this. We can be grateful for the lives we live and we can do good for the world every day we are lucky enough to live them. What a luxury it is to be able to go to sleep at night without worrying if we will make it to morning. What a luxury it is to be able to speak our minds without the fear of a gun being put to our heads. Life is tough no matter who you are or what we do. Every day we all face our own personal battles - some larger, some with more force and we all have to respect that. But moments like this make me realise how lucky I am to only be facing battles on a scale of my inner demons - instead of fighting the monsters that some countries fight every day. I guess all I'm trying to get across here is that whilst we pray for Paris we should pray for every one in the world that doesn't have the luxury of feeling safe. Things have to change - and only we can make that happen. I don't want my children growing up in a world where one day they don't get to spend their nights peacefully dreaming.
