One of my main goals with this new 'blog style' is to let you guys in on every part of my life that is important to me. I know sometimes it gets a bit heavy but I'm hopefully also going to be discussing beauty, baking and anything else you will let me natter on about. Today I'm going to do something I've never done on my blog before (How the hell have I never done this?!) and it's a 'What I'm currently listening to Wednesday' where I take you through a small section of one of my current favourite Spotify playlists and let you know why I spend most of my life dancing around my room in my pyjamas to those specific songs!

Spotify is my music playing device (?) of choice! I love it, from playing it in my house, on the go or even when I'm flying / travelling. I love how you can look at peoples playlists, take it on the go and basically just surround yourself with your soundtracks!

If you want to check out all of my playlists my Spotify name is : Kellyhope Murphy!

(1) Halsey - Hold Me Down : This is a track featured on Halsey's upcoming debut album 'Badlands' and if this is a sample of the quality and style that I can expect from the entire album then I'm even more excited than I already was. Halsey has this effortless - almost haunting tone to her voice and when she layers it over such modern, clean sounds in the back it makes for an incredible blend. The first time I heard this I was already singing along to the chorus, it's 100% one of the songs that I've been listening to as we drive around in the summer with our windows down.

(2) Majid Jordan (feat. Drake) -  My Love : Speaking of summer songs I genuinely think this might be one of my favourite songs so far this summer. Obviously I am slightly biased because it's featuring Drake and we all know that I like anything feat Drake - but this song is just too good. I don't even know what genre of music I would put this in, but you just have to listen to it. I guess I might just be looking at it too much from a personal point of view lyric wise right now but trust me, you'll have this on all of your playlists the second you hear it!

(3) Zara Larsson - Lush Life : I would definitely put this in the 'feel good' aspect of your playlist. It's one of those songs that you can listen to on repeat and nearly not even notice that you've listened to it more than once. It's a song that I can not wait till it comes on when I'm having one of my very rare nights out in a club. The beat is so catchy, Zara's voice is flawless and it's just SO GOOD.

(4) Selena Gomez (feat. A$AP Rocky) - Good For You  : I never in a million years thought I'd see the day where I posted anything about Selena Gomez on my blog, apart from that brief obsession I had with Wizards of Waverly Place when I was younger. Before you all bite my head off about this song can I first clarify that I have MAJOR issues with the message of this song, I mean Selena needs to learn that she needs to wan to look good for HERSELF, not a man. But when I got over that - I found myself walking around my house morning, noon and night singing along to this song. It's very different for the Disney star and the bonus aspect of A$AP defiantly helps!

(5) Ciara (Feat. Nicki Minaj) - I'm Out : This song is literally the two queens of music mixed in with some strong female strength. I will point out that I'm probably feeling this too much because the lyrics are really relevant but I mean who doesn't want a song to remind girls that when a guy fucks you over and you're on your own that you're way too strong to even consider worrying about it?

(6) Hobbie Stuart - When I'm Gone : This song is a bit of an added bonus because it's sadly not on Spotify. One thing I will suggest though is a website called 'Youtube Repeat' and then you'll have this song looping for hours. Most of you will probably be surprised that I like this style of music but the first time I heard it I genuinely didn't believe it was written by who it was. I found Hobbie Stuart through watching youtube videos his friend VelvetGh0st (Gabby) made and ended up falling in love with his youtube filled with covers that he had recorded. He was just a normal guy, who could sing - and it was so enticing. I wanted to hear more, know more and hear something original. When I saw this demo for 'When I'm Gone' I was nervous. It's one of those moments where I was only used to hearing him sing covers and I didn't know what his own style would really come together to be. To say I was surprised is an understatement, this song is beyond any expectations I could of had for it.  He is so talented and under-rated right now, I can't wait till he blows up and everyone is talking about him. I am so excited to see where his music career goes and I can not wait till he does another tour so I can see him live! If you like covers (and some originals) make sure to click through to the video above and check out his youtube page - it has songs from Drake to Ed Sheeran to anything else you can imagine.
